Douglas DAVIS was born in 1920.

He was the son of Cecilia and john DAVIS of Barnes, Surrey.

 

He became very famous without knowing it. He was pictured on one of the best known pictures of the D-Day  preparation. That picture represents the moment allied soldiers were given French Francs. That picture was published in newspaper after D-Day, and since in many books about D-Day.
